When the normal flow of lymph is obstructed, lymphatic fluid builds up often in legs and arms which cause swelling. Swollen lymph nodes will feel like soft, round bumps, and they may be the size of a pea or a grape. They can be quite painful if the passage is congested, and it is important to communicate on the right tolerable pressure and strokes with your therapist during the massage.
After the lymphatic drainage massages, you may notice that your swelling reduces, or at the very least, the swelling does not worsen.
